चिरं जीवति वैदेही यदि मासं धरिष्यति।क्षणं सौम्य न जीवेयं विना तामसितेक्षणाम्।।।।

Transliteration

taṃ tu dṛṣṭvā maṇiśreṣṭhaṃ rāghavaḥ śoka-karśitaḥ |

netrābhyām aśru-pūrṇābhyāṃ sugrīvam idam abravīt ||

Translation

But on seeing that finest jewel, Rāghava—worn down by grief, his eyes brimming with tears—spoke these words to Sugrīva.
