सीतावृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् / Report of Sītā’s Condition and Tokens of Recognition
वैदेहीमक्षतां श्रुत्वा रामस्तूत्तरमब्रवीत्।।5.65.4।।क्व सीता वर्तते देवी कथं च मयि वर्तते।एतन्मे सर्वमाख्यात वैदेहीं प्रति वानराः।।5.65.5।।
samudraṃ laṅghayitvāhaṃ śatayojanam āyatam |
agacchaṃ jānakīṃ sītāṃ mārgamāṇo didṛkṣayā |
After leaping across the ocean, a hundred yojanas wide, I went in search of Janaki Sita, driven by the longing to see her.
Hearing of Sita alive and not harmed, Rama asked the vanaras, 'How is Sita? How is she disposed to me? Tell me everything'.
Selfless service (sevā) in dharma: Hanuman undertakes hardship to fulfill Rama’s righteous purpose and to restore justice.
Hanuman begins his first-person account: he crossed the ocean to search for and see Sita.
