मधुवनभङ्गः — The Disruption of Madhuvana and Dadhimukha’s Complaint
स वानरानिमान् सर्वान् मधुलुब्धान् गतायुषः।घातयिष्यति दण्डेन सुग्रीवस्ससुहृज्जनान्।।5.62.34।।
sarvaṃ caivāṅgade doṣaṃ śrāvayiṣyāmi pārthive | amarṣī vacanaṃ śrutvā ghātayiṣyati vānarān ||
‘And I shall report to the king the whole fault of Aṅgada. When the king, quick to anger, hears these words, he will have the Vānaras put to death.’
'Sugriva will chase all the vanaras and their friends greedy for honey. They will be punished with a stick. They are doomed'.
Accountability to lawful authority: wrongdoing in a protected royal domain is to be reported truthfully to the ruler, who upholds order.
Dadhimukha, unable to stop the Vānaras’ excesses in Madhuvana, decides to inform Sugrīva and predicts harsh punishment.
Dadhimukha’s duty-bound guardianship and commitment to reporting the truth, even when it may bring severe consequences.
