Shloka 5.6.41

राक्षसेन्द्रनिवेशनविचारः (Survey of Ravana’s Residence and Lanka’s Inner Quarters)

jāmbūnadamayāny eva śayanāny āsanāni ca |

bhājanāni ca mukhyāni dadarśa hariyūthapaḥ || 5.6.41 ||

The vanara leader saw beds and seats made of Jāmbūnada gold, and also the finest vessels—all fashioned of gold.

The leader of the vanaras saw there beds, seats and main vessels made of gold.

H
Hanuman (hariyūthapa)
J
Jāmbūnada gold
R
Ravana (contextual)

The verse underscores a Ramayana lesson: wealth (artha) can be immense, yet dharma is not guaranteed by luxury; Hanuman’s truthful observation and non-attachment keep him aligned with righteous duty.

Hanuman continues his inspection inside the palace, noting gold-made furnishings and utensils that display Ravana’s opulence.

Aparigraha-like restraint (non-possessiveness in practice): he is not tempted to claim or enjoy what he sees, remaining devoted to Rama’s cause.
