Shloka 5.58.28
सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
एवमुक्तस्सुरसया दशयोजनमायतः।।।।ततोर्थगुणविस्तारो बभूवाहं क्षणेन तु।
evam uktaḥ surasayā daśayojanam āyataḥ | tato 'rthaguṇavistāro babhūvāhaṃ kṣaṇena tu ||
When Surasā spoke thus, I—ten yojanas in length—expanded at once, in a moment, to an even greater measure, in keeping with my purpose.
"When Surasa said this I who was ten yojanas in height increased by fifteen yojanas.
Right means for a right end: power is employed purposefully (not for pride) to uphold the mission aligned with dharma.
Hanumān begins responding to Surasā’s challenge by changing his physical size, preparing to meet the conditions of the test.
Practical wisdom with strength—Hanumān uses capability in a controlled, goal-directed way.
