सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचस्तस्य मैनाकस्य महात्मनः।।।।कार्यमावेद्य तु गिरेरुद्यतं च मनो मम।तेन चाहमनुज्ञातो मैनाकेन महात्मना।।।।
etac chrutvā vacas tasya mainākasya mahātmanaḥ |
kāryam āvedya tu girer udyataṃ ca mano mama |
tena cāham anujñāto mainākena mahātmanā ||
Having heard the words of the great-souled Maināka, I informed the mountain of my mission and of my resolved intent to proceed; and by that noble Maināka I was granted leave.
"When I heard Mainaka, I told him about my intention to go up. That great self Mainaka allowed me.
Dharma is prioritizing rightful duty over comfort: Hanumān respectfully communicates his obligation and proceeds only after due courtesy and permission.
In a recalled episode from the ocean-crossing, Maināka offers aid; Hanumān states his mission and receives permission to continue.
Courtesy joined with steadfastness—Hanumān honors Maināka yet remains unwavering in purpose.
