सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
तद्भग्नं वनषण्डं तु भ्रान्तत्रस्तमृगद्विजम्।प्रतिबुद्धा निरीक्षन्ते राक्षस्यो विकृताननाः।।।।
tad bhagnaṃ vanaṣaṇḍaṃ tu bhrānta-trasta-mṛga-dvijam | pratibuddhā nirīkṣante rākṣasyo vikṛtānanāḥ ||
The rākṣasī-women, hideous of face, awoke and beheld the thicket shattered—beasts and birds rushing about in terror and bewilderment.
"Those ugly-faced ogresses woke up and saw the devastated garden and terrified beasts and birds.
The verse contrasts the fear and disorder produced by adharma with the corrective disruption caused by a dharmic agent; wrongdoing destabilizes, while righteous intervention exposes and interrupts it.
After Hanumān’s rampage, the rākṣasīs awaken and witness the grove’s devastation and the panic among animals and birds.
Hanumān’s effectiveness as an agent of change—his actions have immediate, visible impact in enemy territory.
