“I have no power to release this bondage of the missile, for it stands through the might of the Guru of the worlds. Understanding thus, this missile-bond, ordained by the Self-born (Brahmā), must be complied with by me.”
'I deem it an effect of the power of Brahma. It is not possiblle for me to free myself due to the power of the great lord presiding over the universe through the astra. It should be obeyed'.
Dharma is voluntary obedience to rightful authority: even when capable, one may refrain, honoring a divine ordinance and the sanctity of Brahmā’s weapon.
Hanumān reflects that freeing himself would oppose the power behind the Brahmāstra; therefore he decides to comply with Brahmā’s ordinance.
Self-restraint (saṃyama): the strength to not use one’s strength when higher righteousness requires restraint.
