षट्चत्वारिंशः सर्गः — Ravana Deploys Five Generals; Hanuman Destroys the Commanders and the Remaining Host
स ताभ्यां सहसोत्पत्य विष्ठितो विमलेऽम्बरे।।।।मुद्गराभ्यां महाबाहुर्वक्षस्यभिहतः कपिः।
sa tābhyāṃ sahasotpatya viṣṭhito vimale ’mbare | mudgarābhyāṃ mahābāhur vakṣasy abhihataḥ kapiḥ ||
As the great-armed monkey stood poised in the clear sky, those two suddenly leapt up and struck his chest with their iron maces.
As the strong-armed vanara stood stationed in the clear white sky both the generals leaped into the sky and hit him all of a sudden with two iron hammers.
Dharma here is seen as steadfastness under trial: the righteous agent endures sudden harm without abandoning purpose. It also implies the ethic that strength should serve a just mission, not mere aggression.
Virūpākṣa and Yūpākṣa leap into the air and land a coordinated blow on Hanumān’s chest while he is positioned in the sky.
