अभिज्ञानदानम् / The Gift of Recognition (Sita’s Token and Resolve)
त्वां दृष्ट्वा प्रियवक्तारं सम्प्रहृष्यामि वानरः।अर्धसञ्जातसस्येव वृष्टिं प्राप्य वसुन्धरा।।5.40.2।।
sābravīd dattam eveti mayābhijñānam uttamam |
etad eva hi rāmasya dṛṣṭvā matkeśabhūṣaṇam ||5.40.18||
śraddheyaṃ hanuman vākyaṃ tava vīra bhaviṣyati |
She said: “I have already given you the finest token of recognition. When the hero Rāma sees this ornament of mine for the hair, he will trust your words, O Hanumān.”
"O vanara! just as the earth feels happy when the half grown crops receive rain, I feel happy after seeing you. You have been speaking pleasing words
Dharma is upheld through satya and pramāṇa: truth should be supported by reliable evidence so that trust is established without deception.
Sītā ensures Rāma will believe Hanumān by giving a personal ornament as an identifying token to be shown to Rāma.
Sītā’s clarity and prudence in communication; Hanumān’s integrity as a truthful messenger whose report will be validated.
