Shloka 5.38.69
अभिज्ञानप्रदानम् — The Token of Recognition (Chūḍāmaṇi) and the Crow Episode Recalled
ततो वस्त्रगतं मुक्त्वा दिव्यं चूडामणिं शुभम्।प्रदेयो राघवायेति सीता हनुमते ददौ।।5.38.69।।
kāraṇair bahubhir devi rāma-priya-cikīrṣayā |
sneha-praskanna-manasā mayaitat samudīritam ||5.38.7||
O queen, for many reasons—and wishing to do what is dear to Rāma—these words have I spoken, with a mind suffused with affection.
Then Sita took out the exquisite and auspicious Chudamani worn on the head, untied from her clothes and gave it to Hanuman to be presented to Rama.
Dharma appears as seva (rightful service): Hanuman frames his speech as motivated by love and the duty to act for Rama’s good, not by self-interest.
Hanuman explains to Sita why he has spoken at length—he is justifying his counsel and intentions as centered on Rama.
