हनूमत्सीतासंवादः — Hanuman’s Offer of Rescue and Sita’s Dharmic Refusal
आरम्भस्तु मदर्थोऽयं ततस्तव निरर्थकः।त्वया हि सह रामस्य महानागमने गुणः।।।।
ārambhas tu mad-artho 'yaṃ tatas tava nirarthakaḥ | tvayā hi saha rāmasya mahān āgamane guṇaḥ ||
Then this undertaking, begun for my sake, would become useless; rather, it is of great value that Rāma should come here together with you.
"All your effort for my sake would be futile. Hence Rama's arrival along with you will be of great benefit.
Dharma is linked to choosing the proper means: Sītā suggests that the righteous and effective resolution requires Rāma’s rightful agency, not a partial remedy that may fail.
Sītā explains to Hanumān that if she is moved or hidden, the mission’s purpose could be defeated; therefore, Rāma’s arrival with Hanumān’s guidance is crucial.
