सीताप्रत्यय-प्रदानम् (Sita’s Recognition and Reassurance by the Envoy)
मलयेन च विन्ध्येन मेरुणा मन्दरेण च।दर्दुरेण च ते देवि शपे मूलफलेन च।।5.36.38।।यथा सुनयनं वल्गु बिम्बोष्ठं चारु कुण्डलम् ।मुखं द्रक्ष्यसि रामस्य पूर्णचन्द्रमिवोदितम्।।5.36.39।।
malayena ca vindhyena meruṇā mandareṇa ca | dardureṇa ca te devi śape mūlaphalena ca ||
yathā sunayanaṃ valgu bimboṣṭhaṃ cāru kuṇḍalam |
mukhaṃ drakṣyasi rāmasya pūrṇacandram ivoditam ||
O Sītā, I swear by Malaya, Vindhya, Meru, Mandara, and Dardura, and by the roots and fruits that are our fare: you will see Rāma’s moonlike face, radiant as the risen full moon—fair-eyed, with bimba-red lips and lovely earrings.
"O Sita I swear in the name of mountains like Malaya, Vindhya, Meru, and Dardura (the abodes of monkeys and bears) and by the roots and fruits as well (which are the food of vanaras). you will soon behold Rama with beautiful eyes, red lips like bimba fruit, lovely earrings and a countenance resembling the full moon.
Satya reinforced: the repetition functions as emphatic assurance—ethical speech that stabilizes the distressed and strengthens faith in righteous outcomes.
This verse repeats the preceding oath-formula (a Southern Recension duplication), maintaining Hanumān’s consoling pledge of reunion.
