Neither his mother nor his father—nor anyone else—surpasses me in his affection, nor is anyone equal. O messenger, I would wish to live only until I hear news of my beloved.
"His love for me is superior to his love for his father, mother or any one else. O messenger, I wish to survive till I hear any news from my dear lord."
Dharma is unwavering conjugal loyalty (pativratā-dharma) expressed as truthfulness of feeling and commitment to the rightful bond, even under coercion and despair.
Sītā, sustained by the hope brought by Hanumān, declares her dependence on hearing Rāma’s news and her exclusive bond with him.
Sītā’s steadfast fidelity and endurance—life is held together by dharmic hope and truthful attachment to her rightful husband.
