सीताप्रत्यय-प्रदानम् (Sita’s Recognition and Reassurance by the Envoy)
अथवा शक्तिमन्तौ तौ सुराणामपि निग्रहे।ममैव तु न दुःखानामस्ति मन्ये विपर्ययः।।।।
athavā śaktimantau tau surāṇām api nigrahe |
mamaiva tu na duḥkhānām asti manye viparyayaḥ ||
Or else—those two are powerful enough even to subdue the gods; yet I think it is only my sorrow that has not met its reversal.
"Both of them are capable of subduing even the gods. I think the reversal of my fate is reason for their inaction.
Endurance with integrity: even when fate seems adverse, Sītā does not abandon righteousness; she interprets delay as misfortune rather than doubting dharma.
Sītā acknowledges Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa’s capability, yet laments that her suffering has not yet been overturned.
Kṣānti (patient endurance) under duḥkha: Sītā maintains moral steadiness despite despair.
