सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance
कल्याणी बत गाथेयं लौकिकी प्रतिभाति मा।एति जीवन्तमानन्दो नरं वर्षशतादपि।।।।
kalyāṇī bata gātheyaṁ laukikī pratibhāti mā | eti jīvantam ānando naraṁ varṣaśatād api ||
Ah—this common saying seems auspiciously true to me: joy comes to one who still lives, even after a hundred years.
"The adage that 'joy comes to a living being even though it be at the end of a hundred years' is popular. It appears true in my case".
Dharma is perseverance grounded in faith and truth—so long as life remains, one should not abandon hope or righteous resolve.
Sītā, newly heartened by Hanuman’s message, reflects that delayed happiness can still arrive, validating her endurance in captivity.
