सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance
अहं सुग्रीवसचिवो हनुमान्नाम वानरः।प्रविष्टो नगरीं लङ्कां लङ्घयित्वा महोदधिम्।।।।
ahaṁ sugrīvasacivo hanumān nāma vānaraḥ | praviṣṭo nagarīṁ laṅkāṁ laṅghayitvā mahodadhim ||
I am the vānara named Hanumān, minister to Sugrīva; having leapt across the great ocean, I have entered the city of Laṅkā.
"I am Sugriva's minister known as Hanuman, a vanara who entered the city of Lanka after leaping over the great ocean.
Dharma is selfless service—Hanuman identifies himself by his duty (minister) and mission (reaching Sītā), not by personal glory.
Hanuman formally introduces himself to Sītā and establishes credibility by recounting his extraordinary journey to Laṅkā.
Hanuman’s courage, competence, and disciplined loyalty to Sugrīva and Rāma’s cause.
