Shloka 5.34.30

सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance

सत्यवादी मधुरवाग्देवो वाचस्पतिर्यथा।रूपवान्सुभग श्रीमान् कन्दर्प इव मूर्तिमान्।।।।

satyavādī madhuravāg devo vācaspatir yathā ।

rūpavān subhagaḥ śrīmān kandarpa iva mūrtimān ॥

He speaks truth, and his words are sweet—like Vācaspati. He is handsome, fortunate, and radiant, like the Love-god himself embodied.

"He is truthful in speech like Brihaspati, prosperous (like Kubera), sweet-tongued, handsome, graceful like Kamadeva.

Satya joined to kindness: truthfulness (satyavāda) is presented not as harshness but as sweet, beneficial speech—an ethical ideal in Ramayana.
