हनुमता सीतासंवादोपायचिन्ता — Hanuman’s Deliberation on How to Address Sita
ततो जातपरित्रासा शब्दं कुर्यान्मनस्विनी।।।।जानमाना विशालाक्षी रावणं कामरूपिणम्।
tato jātaparitrāsā śabdaṃ kuryān manasvinī | jānamānā viśālākṣī rāvaṇaṃ kāmarūpiṇam ||
Then the sensitive, large-eyed lady, struck with fear, might cry out—thinking me to be Rāvaṇa, who can assume forms at will.
By seeing me in this form, sensitive large-eyed Sita will scream loudly thinking that I am Ravana who can assume any form at his free will.
Dharma includes preventing foreseeable harm: if an action predictably causes panic and danger, restraint and better planning become the righteous choice.
Hanumān anticipates that Sītā may scream if she suspects a disguised Rāvaṇa, jeopardizing secrecy.
