निमित्तप्रादुर्भावः — Auspicious Omens Arise for Sita
गजेन्द्रहस्तप्रतिमश्च पीनस्तयोर्द्वयोः सम्हतयोः सुजातः।प्रस्पन्दमानः पुनरूरुरस्यारामं पुरस्तात् स्थितमाचचक्षे।।5.29.4।।
gajendrahastapratimaś ca pīnas tayor dvayoḥ saṃhatayoḥ sujātaḥ | praspandamānaḥ punar ūruḥ asyā rāmaṃ purastāt sthitam ācacakṣe ||5.29.4||
Again her well-shaped, full thigh—close-set with its mate and like the trunk of a royal elephant—began to throb, as though pointing to Rāma standing before her.
Again her round-shaped left thigh resembling an elephant's trunk started throbbing, presaging union with Rama.
Moral order reassures the steadfast: the omen functions as narrative confirmation that dharma-protected reunion is approaching.
A further auspicious bodily sign appears, interpreted as foretelling Rāma’s presence and union.
Faith and steadfastness—Sītā’s unwavering truthfulness is met with signs of coming deliverance.
