त्रिजटास्वप्नवर्णनम् (Trijata’s Dream-Omens and the Rakshasis’ Reversal)
भर्त्सितामपि याचध्वं राक्षस्यः किं विवक्षया।।5.27.43।।राघवाद्धि भयं घोरं राक्षसानामुपस्थितम्।
bhartsitām api yācadhvaṃ rākṣasyaḥ kiṃ vivakṣayā | rāghavād dhi bhayaṃ ghoraṃ rākṣasānām upasthitam ||5.27.43||
O rākṣasīs, even though you had threatened her, beg her now—what need is there for hesitation? For from Rāghava a dreadful fear has come upon the rākṣasas.
"O demonesses beg her (pardon) now even though you had threatened her earlier. Where is the need to hesitate? There is cause for concern for demons from Rama.
Accountability for wrongdoing: those who committed verbal violence are urged to seek forgiveness, recognizing that adharma invites inevitable consequences.
The rākṣasīs, shaken by ominous signs, conclude that Rāma’s approach spells danger and therefore they should immediately placate Sītā.
Pragmatic humility—bowing to moral reality and seeking pardon rather than persisting in arrogance.
