सीताया रावणं प्रति धर्मोपदेशः (Sita’s Dharmic Admonition to Ravana)
तस्य ते विग्रहे ताभ्यां युगग्रहणमस्थिरम्।।।।वृत्रस्येवेन्द्रबाहुभ्यां बाहोरेकस्य विग्रहे।
akāryaṃ na mayā kāryam ekapatnyā vigarhitam |
kulaṃ samprāptayā puṇyaṃ kule mahati jātayā ||
Born in a noble lineage and wedded into a virtuous family, devoted to one husband alone, I must not do this forbidden, shameful deed.
"You will not be able to withstand them in a battle. You will meet the same fate as the one-armed Vritra in a battle with the two-armed Indra.
Marital fidelity and moral restraint: a righteous person refuses acts that violate dharma, even under pressure.
In Laṅkā, Sītā rejects Rāvaṇa’s advances and grounds her refusal in family honor and wifely chastity.
Sītā’s steadfast chastity (pativratā-dharma) and unwavering adherence to propriety (maryādā).
