Shloka 5.2.4

लङ्कादर्शनं तथा रात्रौ सूक्ष्मरूपेण प्रवेशोपायचिन्तनम् (Vision of Lanka and Strategy for Nocturnal Entry)

शतान्यहं योजनानां क्रमेयं सुबहून्यपि।किं पुनः सागरस्यान्तं संख्यातं शतयोजनम्।।।।

śatāny ahaṃ yojanānāṃ kramēyaṃ subahūny api | kiṃ punaḥ sāgarasyāntaṃ saṅkhyātaṃ śatayojanam ||

I can traverse, in succession, many hundreds of yojanas—how much more then the ocean’s span, reckoned as a mere hundred yojanas?

(He said to himself), "I can cross a distance of even hundreds of yojanas. What to say of a hundred yojanas which is a calculated distance."

H
Hanuman
O
Ocean (sāgara)
Y
Yojana (unit of distance)

Dharma as steadfast service: confidence is not vanity here but a readiness to employ one’s full capacity for a righteous cause.

Hanumān recalls his ability and the already-accomplished ocean-crossing, strengthening his resolve for the next stage of the mission in Laṅkā.

Vīrya (valor/strength) guided by purpose: he recognizes his power as an instrument for Rāma’s work.
