लङ्कादर्शनं तथा रात्रौ सूक्ष्मरूपेण प्रवेशोपायचिन्तनम् (Vision of Lanka and Strategy for Nocturnal Entry)
शतान्यहं योजनानां क्रमेयं सुबहून्यपि।किं पुनः सागरस्यान्तं संख्यातं शतयोजनम्।।।।
śatāny ahaṃ yojanānāṃ kramēyaṃ subahūny api | kiṃ punaḥ sāgarasyāntaṃ saṅkhyātaṃ śatayojanam ||
I can traverse, in succession, many hundreds of yojanas—how much more then the ocean’s span, reckoned as a mere hundred yojanas?
(He said to himself), "I can cross a distance of even hundreds of yojanas. What to say of a hundred yojanas which is a calculated distance."
Dharma as steadfast service: confidence is not vanity here but a readiness to employ one’s full capacity for a righteous cause.
Hanumān recalls his ability and the already-accomplished ocean-crossing, strengthening his resolve for the next stage of the mission in Laṅkā.
Vīrya (valor/strength) guided by purpose: he recognizes his power as an instrument for Rāma’s work.
