Shloka 5.2.2

लङ्कादर्शनं तथा रात्रौ सूक्ष्मरूपेण प्रवेशोपायचिन्तनम् (Vision of Lanka and Strategy for Nocturnal Entry)

ततः पादपमुक्तेन पुष्पवर्षेण वीर्यवान्।अभिवृष्टः स्थितस्तत्र बभौ पुष्पमयो यथा।।।।

kāñcanenāvṛtāṃ ramyāṃ prākāreṇa mahāpurīm | gṛhaiś ca grahasaṃkāśaiḥ śāradāmbudasannibhaiḥ ||

He saw that great and lovely city enclosed by a golden rampart, and filled with houses shining like a cluster of planets, pale as autumn clouds.

Covered fully with the continuous shower of flowers dropped on him from the trees, heroic Hanuman appeared as though he was a heap of flowers as he stood there.

It highlights a Ramāyaṇa theme: external magnificence is not proof of righteousness. Dharma is measured by conduct (ācāra), not by wealth or architecture.

Hanumān continues a visual survey of Laṅkā’s grandeur—its golden walls and radiant residences.

Discernment: Hanumān can acknowledge beauty without being morally confused by it.
