रावणान्तःपुर-पानभूमि-विचयः (Hanumān’s Survey of Rāvaṇa’s Inner Palace and Banquet Hall)
स भूयस्तु परं श्रीमान् मारुतिर्यत्नमास्थितः।।5.11.47।।आपानभूमिमुत्सृज्य तद्विचेतुं प्रचक्रमे।
tad idaṃ mārgitaṃ tāvac chuddhena manasā mayā || 5.11.44 ||
rāvaṇāntaḥpuraṃ sarvaṃ dṛśyate na tu jānakī |
Thus far, with a pure mind, I have searched this entire inner palace of Rāvaṇa—yet Jānakī is not to be seen.
Illustrious Hanuman left the banquet hall to renew his effort in search of Sita.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīyē ādikāvyē sundarakāṇḍē ēkādaśassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the eleventh sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.
Purity of intention (śuddha-bhāva) in righteous action: even when entering morally compromised spaces, Hanuman maintains inner purity and truthfulness about what he has and has not found.
Hanuman sums up his search of Ravana’s inner quarters and acknowledges that Sita is still not found.
Moral restraint and honesty—he keeps a ‘pure mind’ and reports reality without exaggeration.
