In the house of that lord of rākṣasas, the tiger among monkeys saw a drinking-hall furnished with every desired indulgence.

The tiger among vanaras saw at the great Ravana's palace a drinking place where everything one desires was provided.

Hanumān

Rāvaṇa

Laṅkā (palace context)

The verse frames a dharmic test: environments of indulgence can distract from truth and duty. Hanumān’s presence there is not participation but observation—showing that dharma requires restraint amid temptation.

During his search inside the palace complex, Hanumān comes upon a lavish drinking-hall stocked with pleasures.

Detachment and mission-integrity: Hanumān is not seduced by luxury; he continues his righteous reconnaissance for Sītā.
