समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
साहाय्यं वानरेन्द्रस्य यदि नाहं हनूमत:।करिष्यामि भविष्यामि सर्ववाच्यो विवक्षताम्।।।।
sāhāyyaṃ vānarendrasya yadi nāhaṃ hanūmataḥ |
kariṣyāmi bhaviṣyāmi sarvavācyo vivakṣatām ||
“If I do not render help to Hanumān, the lord among monkeys, I shall become blameworthy in the speech of all the wise.”
'If I fail to help the monkey-chief, the wise will blame me'.
Dharma includes accountability before the wise: failing to support a righteous endeavor is morally blameworthy, so one should assist Satya’s cause when able.
The Ocean-god reasons that he must aid Hanumān during the crossing, or else incur censure.
Moral responsibility (kartavya-bodha) and readiness to support the righteous.
