समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing

येनासौ याति बलवान् वेगेन कपिकुञ्जरः।तेन मार्गेण सहसा द्रोणीकृत इवार्णवः।।।।

Transliteration

yenāsau yāti balavān vegena kapikuñjaraḥ | tena mārgeṇa sahasā droṇīkṛta ivārṇavaḥ ||

Translation

As that powerful ‘elephant among monkeys’ sped along his course, the ocean along that very track seemed at once hollowed into a trough.

As the powerful monkey, an elephant among vanaras, was proceeding swiftly along, the ocean got instantly transformed into a trough on account of water swelling by the force of his flight.
