समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
यं यं देशं समुद्रस्य जगाम स महाकपिः।स स तस्योरुवेगेन सोन्माद इव लक्ष्यते।।।।
yaṃ yaṃ deśaṃ samudrasya jagāma sa mahākapiḥ | sa sa tasyoruvegena sonmāda iva lakṣyate ||
Whichever tract of the ocean that great monkey passed over, that very stretch appeared as if maddened—churned by the powerful thrust of his thighs.
Whichever part of the sea over which that monkey flew, it appeared as though it was riotous with eddies, whirlpools and revolving foam etc., stirred up by the speed of his thighs.
Dharma is effectiveness in service: righteous intent is matched by capability, showing that duty requires not only good will but also the power to accomplish the task.
As Hanumān flies, the sea below is visibly disturbed, as though agitated by his speed and force.
Sāmarthya (competence) and vīrya (potent energy) aligned with a moral mission.
