Shloka 5.1.35

समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing

बाहू संस्तम्भयामास महापरिघसन्निभौ।ससाद च कपिः कट्यां चरणौ सञ्चुकोच च।।।।

bāhū saṃstambhayāmāsa mahāparighasannibhau | sasāda ca kapiḥ kaṭyāṃ caraṇau sañcukoca ca ||

The monkey braced his arms—like massive iron bars—then crouched at the waist and drew in his feet, compressing himself to spring.

The monkey fixed his arms, looking like iron clubs, firmly on the mountain andcrouched his waist and contracted his feet.

Dharma is careful preparation in righteous work: strength is applied with method, showing that right ends require disciplined means.

Immediately before takeoff, Hanumān braces his limbs against the mountain and compresses his body to generate the leap.

Niścaya (firm resolve) combined with skill: his posture shows focused intention and readiness to bear responsibility.
