Shloka 5.1.195

समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing

तां तु दृष्ट्वा च धृत्या च दाक्षिण्येन निपात्य च।स कपिप्रवरो वेगाद्ववृधे पुनरात्मवान्।।।।

tāṃ tu dṛṣṭvā ca dhṛtyā ca dākṣiṇyena nipātya ca |

sa kapipravaro vegād vavṛdhe punar ātmavān ||

Seeing his opening, and with firmness and skill striking her down, that foremost of monkeys—self-controlled—swiftly grew again to his larger form.

Self-controlled Hanuman, the great monkey acting with firmness of mind and ingenuity threw her down and once again rapidly grew in size.

Dharma is disciplined power: strength is guided by self-control and purposeful action, not by anger or pride.

After defeating Siṃhikā, Hanumān regains his expanded form to continue his journey.

Ātma-saṃyama (self-mastery) combined with dhṛti (fortitude) and dākṣya (skill).
