समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
स सागरजलं भित्त्वा बभूवाभ्युत्थितस्तदा।।।।यथा जलधरं भित्त्वा दीप्तरश्मिर्दिवाकरः।
sa sāgarajalaṁ bhittvā babhūvābhyutthitas tadā |
yathā jaladharaṁ bhittvā dīptaraśmir divākaraḥ ||
Then, breaking through the ocean’s waters, the mountain rose up—like the sun with blazing rays bursting through a bank of clouds.
Just as the rising Sun comes out with glowing rays tearing the veil of dark clouds, the mountain rose up from the water of the ocean.
Dharma is portrayed as light overcoming obstruction: righteous support rises decisively, clearing the way for a just undertaking.
Maināka surfaces dramatically from the ocean while Hanumān is mid-flight.
