Just as a full-grown lion stretches himself inside a mountain cave, the lawful son of the Wind-god similarly stretched and expanded his body at that moment.
Just as a lion grown in a mountain cave stretches its body, the Wind-god's son stretched (his limbs) at that time.
The lion simile signifies Hanuman's awakening power, majesty, and readiness to undertake the colossal task of leaping across the ocean, mirroring the dominance of a lion in its domain.
It identifies him as the legitimate spiritual son of the Wind God (Maruta/Vayu), validating his supernatural ability to expand his form and control the air.
