हनूमद्विक्रम-प्रशंसा तथा महेन्द्रारोहणम् (Hanuman’s Self-Assertion of Power and Ascent of Mount Mahendra)
एषु वेगं करिष्यामि महेन्द्रशिखरेष्वहम्।।4.67.38।।नानाद्रुमविकीर्णेषु धातुनिष्यन्दशोभिषु।
eṣu vegaṁ kariṣyāmi mahendraśikhareṣv aham || 4.67.38 ||
nānādrumavikīrṇeṣu dhātuniṣyandaśobhiṣu |
Upon these peaks of Mahendra I shall gather my speed—amid slopes strewn with many kinds of trees and gleaming with streams of mineral ores.
'I will pick up speed on the peaks of mount Mahendra filled with different kinds of trees and minerals.
Dharma is disciplined resolve: Hanuman does not rely on mere emotion; he prepares methodically to accomplish the righteous task.
Hanuman declares he will accelerate from Mahendra’s peaks before making the long leap across the sea.
