You belong to the mighty lineage of Ariṣṭanemi and Vinatā; and Garuḍa—renowned as Garutmān, the greatest of all birds—is famed for his extraordinary power.
'O dear! when Visnu (Vamana incarnate) took three strides I circumambulated the whole earth including its mountains and trees twentyone times.
Dharma here is expressed as responsible leadership: reminding a capable person of their true strength so they may serve a righteous mission without hesitation.
Before the ocean-crossing to Laṅkā, Jāmbavān addresses Hanumān to awaken his confidence by recalling exalted lineages and exemplars of power like Garuḍa.
Confidence grounded in truth (self-knowledge), cultivated through wise counsel rather than pride.
