I suppose Jatāyu fell at Janasthāna; but I fell upon the Vindhya—my wings burned, my body rendered senseless and inert.
'O revered sage! I am exhausted and my senses are depressed. I am ashamed of myself. My body is wounded. Therefore I am not able to reply.
Truthful accounting of consequences: actions driven by pride lead to real, lasting suffering—dharma requires learning and restraint afterward.
After the burning incident, the brothers fall in different places; Sampāti lands on Vindhya incapacitated.
Candor (satya) in narrating one’s downfall without self-justification.
