सम्पाति–अङ्गदसंवादः / Sampati and Angada: Genealogy, Jatayu, and the Search Vow
एवं रामप्रयुक्तास्तु मार्गमाणास्ततस्ततः।वैदेहीं नाधिगच्छामो रात्रौ सूर्यप्रभामिव।।।।
evaṃ rāma-prayuktās tu mārgamāṇās tatas tataḥ | vaidehīṃ nādhigacchāmo rātrau sūrya-prabhām iva ||
Thus, though commissioned by Rāma, searching here and there, we could not find Vaidehī—just as the sun’s radiance cannot be found in the night.
find her just as one fails to see Sun's radiance at night.
Dharma includes perseverance in a righteous task even when results are not immediate; truthful reporting (satya) of failure is also part of moral discipline.
Angada reports that despite extensive searching under Rāma’s command, the search party has not located Sītā.
