सम्पाति–अङ्गदसंवादः / Sampati and Angada: Genealogy, Jatayu, and the Search Vow

स राज्ये स्थापितस्तेन सुग्रीवो वानराधिपः।राजा वानरमुख्यानां येन प्रस्थापिता वयम्।।।।

sa rājye sthāpitas tena sugrīvo vānarādhipaḥ | rājā vānarāmukhyānāṃ yena prasthāpitā vayam ||

By him (Rāma), Sugrīva—the lord of the vānaras—was established in the kingdom; and by that king, foremost among the monkeys, we were dispatched on this mission.

'Sugriva, the monkey king, was installed by him and crowned as king of the monkeys. Sugriva is the king of all great monkeys. We have been sent by him in search of Sita.

Dharma here is duty-bound service: once legitimate authority is established, emissaries act as disciplined agents of a righteous mission rather than personal desire.

Angada explains their mandate: after Sugrīva’s installation, Sugrīva sent the vānaras to search for Sītā in support of Rāma.

Obedience and commitment to a collective mission (seeking Sītā) under rightful leadership.
