अङ्गदस्य प्रायोपवेशननिश्चयः (Angada’s Resolve to Fast unto Death)
आरोग्यपूर्वं कुशलं वाच्या माता रुमा च मे।।।।मातरं चैव मे तारामाश्वासयितुमर्हथ।
ārogyapūrvaṃ kuśalaṃ vācyā mātā rumā ca me |
mātaraṃ caiva me tārām āśvāsayitum arhatha ||
Convey, with inquiry first into their health, my good wishes to my mother and to Ruma as well. And you should also console my mother Tara.
'You should convey my mother as well as Ruma my good wishes for their health and well-being. You should console my mother Tara also.
Dharma as care for dependents: even while renouncing life, Angada remembers obligations of empathy—ensuring elders and women in the family are informed respectfully and consoled.
Angada issues instructions about informing his household—health inquiries, greetings, and consolation—before he undertakes prāyopaveśa.
Compassionate responsibility (dayā-yukta kartavya-buddhi).
