Shloka 4.53.16

स्वयम्प्रभा-विमोचनम् — Svayamprabha Leads the Vanaras Out (Time-Limit Crisis and Counsel)

विन्ध्यस्य तु गिरेः पादे सम्प्रपुष्पितपादपे।उपविश्य महाभागाश्चिन्तामापेदिरे तदा।।।।

vindhyasya tu gिरेḥ pāde samprapuṣpitapādape |

upaviśya mahābhāgāś cintām āpedire tadā ||

Then those fortunate vānaras sat down at the foot of Vindhya, where the trees were in full bloom, and fell into anxious reflection.

Then the high-soul monkeys reached the hill adjacent to Vindhya mountain on which trees were in full bloom.They sat there, lost in thought.

Dharma involves self-examination: pausing to reflect when duty may have been compromised is the first step toward correction.

After reaching the open world again, the vānaras rest at Vindhya’s base and begin worrying about the missed deadline.

Conscientiousness—inner discomfort at possible failure in duty.
