We entered at once into this cave, shrouded in darkness. Pursuing this very task, we came here—and all of us reached you, worn down and hungry.

'Vexed and starved, we entered this grotto shrouded in darkness. This is our task and we reached here (in the process).

Dharma is steadfastness in assigned work even under hardship, combined with satya—plainly stating their condition (hunger, exhaustion) without concealment.

The monkeys explain how, in the course of their mission, they entered a dark cave and eventually encountered Svayaṃprabhā in a weakened state.

Perseverance—continuing the task despite fear, darkness, and deprivation.
