Shloka 4.50.29

ऋक्षबिलप्रवेशः — Entry into the Rikshabilam Cave

जातरूपमयैर्मत्स्यैर्महद्भिश्च सकच्छपैः।।।।नळिनीस्तत्र ददृशुः प्रसन्नसलिलावृताः।

jātarūpamayair matsyair mahadbhiś ca sakacchapaiḥ॥4.50.29॥

naḷinīs tatra dadṛśuḥ prasannasalilāvṛtāḥ |

There they saw lotus-filled waters, clear and tranquil, in which swam great fish as if made of gold, along with great tortoises.

There they saw golden fishes and huge tortoises in the pellucid water of the tank filled with lotus creepers.

Dharma is suggested through restraint: even amid mesmerizing sights, one should remain truthful to one’s purpose and commitments.

The vanaras continue observing marvels in the hidden realm, including clear lotus waters with golden-looking fish and large tortoises.

Steadiness and vigilance—marvels should not weaken resolve or delay duty.
