ऋक्षबिलप्रवेशः — Entry into the Rikshabilam Cave
न तेषां सज्जते चक्षुर्न तेजो न पराक्रमः।।।।वायोरिव गतिस्तेषां दृष्टिस्तमसि वर्तते।
siṁhaśārdūlajuṣṭeṣu śilāś ca saritas tadā |
viṣameṣu nagendrasya mahāprasravaṇeṣu ca ||
Then they searched among rocks and rivers, through the perilous tracts of that great mountain, even near its mighty cascades—places frequented by lions and tigers.
The monkeys could not fix their eyes anywhere.Their lustre or valour could not help them. They moved like wind uninterrupted and their vision was lost in darkness.
Dharma here is steadfast performance of entrusted duty: the search party accepts danger and discomfort to fulfill the mission connected to Rāma’s cause.
The vānaras continue their search, combing hazardous mountain terrain—rivers, rocks, and predator-haunted spots.
Courageous perseverance (dhairya) and diligence in service, even where fear and physical risk are present.
