O monkeys, traverse with skill the eastern quarter beloved of Mahendra, adorned with groves and forests. When you find Sītā, dear to the scion of Raghu’s line (Rāma), return—then you will live in safety and happiness.
'Dreadful monkeys who resemble demons have arrived along with thousands of fierce fighters.
Dharma as faithful service to a righteous cause: careful effort in a just mission leads to welfare (sukha) for the community.
Sugriva motivates and directs the vanaras to search the eastern quarter thoroughly and return upon finding Sītā.
Competent, careful action (nipuṇatā) joined with loyalty to Rāma’s cause.
