Shloka 4.40.33

पूर्वदिशि सीतामार्गण-नियोगः (Deployment to the Eastern Quarter for the Search of Sita)

ततो रक्तजलं शोणमगाधं शीघ्रगामिनम्।गत्वा पारं समुद्रस्य सिद्धचारणसेवितम्।।4.40.33।।तस्य तीर्थेषु रम्येषु विचित्रेषु वनेषु च।रावण स्सह वैदेह्या मार्गितव्यस्ततस्ततः।।4.40.34।।

tato raktajalaṃ śoṇam agādhaṃ śīghragāminam | gatvā pāraṃ samudrasya siddhacāraṇasevitam || 4.40.33 ||

From there, reach the Śoṇa—its waters red, deep, and swift-flowing—and then go on to the farther shore of the ocean, frequented by Siddhas and Cāraṇas.

'Therefrom reach out to the swift-flowing river Sona which has red-coloured waters. Then crossing the sea which is the abode of Siddhas and Charanas search the different rivers reaching the sea, and the picturesque and wonderful forests to trace the abode of Ravana who has stolen Sita.

Dharma is perseverance in righteous duty: the mission demands crossing daunting natural boundaries without abandoning the truthful goal.

Sugrīva specifies further geographic markers—river and ocean-crossing—extending the search route.

Determination—continuing onward even when the path leads to vast waters and remote shores.
