Shloka 4.38.19

उद्योगप्रवर्तनम् (Mobilization and Counsel on Kingship)

परिष्वज्य च धर्मात्मा निषीदेति ततोऽब्रवीत्।।4.38.19।।निषण्णं तं ततो दृष्ट्वा क्षितौ रामोऽब्रवीद्वचः।

pariṣvajya ca dharmātmā niṣīdety ato 'bravīt | niṣaṇṇaṃ taṃ tato dṛṣṭvā kṣitau rāmo 'bravīd vacaḥ ||

After embracing him, righteous Rāma said, “Sit.” And seeing Sugrīva seated upon the ground, Rāma then spoke these words.

Embracing him, Rama offered him a seat on the ground and said:

R
Rāma
S
Sugrīva

Dharma is expressed through dignified hospitality and orderly counsel: Rāma seats Sugrīva and prepares to speak on right conduct, showing that guidance should be given in a calm, respectful setting.

Rāma embraces Sugrīva, asks him to sit, and begins a formal instruction/discourse.

Rāma’s righteousness and mentorship—he guides an allied king with measured words.
