Summon at once all the monkeys across the earth—those dwelling on the peaks of Mahendra, Himavat, Vindhya, and Kailāsa; on Mandara and the white peak among the five mountains; those on the shining mountains by the sea and in the western quarter; those on the mountain called Ādityabhavana, resembling twilight clouds; the foremost monkeys in the formidable Padmātāla grove; those living on Mount Añjana, dark as collyrium-clouds and strong as elephants; those of golden radiance dwelling in the caves of Manaḥśilā; those near Meru and those settled on Dhūmragiri; those on Mahāruṇa, red like the rising sun, drinking maireya and swift as terror; and those in vast, fragrant forests and around the pleasant forest-hermitages of ascetics. Bring each group quickly, employing every method such as conciliation and gifts, and dispatch the monkeys without delay.
'Send for the monkeys residing at the five mountains of Mahendra, Himavan, Vindhya, Kailasa and the white-peaked mount Mandara; those monkeys residing on the western mountains, on the sea shore and on mount Udaya shining like the rising Sun; monkeys like dark clouds shining in the twilight Sun; those at the fierce Padmatala garden and those at the Anjana mountain who resemble dark clouds like collyriumand are as strong as elephants; those monkeys of golden complexion residing at the red arsenic mountain caves beside mount Meru; those on mount Meru and Dhumra who are of bright red colour like the rising Sun drinking liquor Maireya; the monkeys of terrific speed at mount Maharuna; those staying at the delightful hermitages in the forests, and those living on the ground all must be cajoled and persuaded to report at once.
Rajadharma guided by prudence: a leader may use graduated, non-violent means—conciliation and incentives (sāma, dāna)—to assemble support quickly for a righteous end.
Sugrīva issues a wide-ranging summons, naming many regions and habitats where Vānaras live, and instructs Hanumān/agents to gather them rapidly using effective diplomatic methods.
Administrative intelligence—Sugrīva combines geographic awareness, logistics, and diplomacy to serve Rāma’s mission efficiently.
