तारोपदेशः — Tara’s Counsel to Lakshmana (Restraint, Time, and Mobilization)

देहधर्मं गतस्यास्य परिश्रान्तस्य लक्ष्मण।अवितृप्तस्य कामेषु कामं क्षन्तुमिहार्हसि।।।।

deha-dharmaṃ gatasya asya pariśrāntasya lakṣmaṇa | avitṛptasya kāmeṣu kāmaṃ kṣantum ihārhasi ||

O Lakṣmaṇa, since he is worn out and given over to bodily impulses, still unsated in pleasures, you should for now forgive this indulgence.

'O Lakshmana! you should pardon him since he is not yet satisfied, though tired, with the struggle for the fulfilment of his sensual pleasures.

Dharma balances justice with mercy: when lapse arises from weakness rather than malice, patience and corrective time can be righteous.

Tārā requests Lakṣmaṇa to pardon Sugrīva’s present indulgence and fatigue, instead of escalating conflict within Kiṣkindhā.

Forbearance (kṣamā) in Lakṣmaṇa, and Tārā’s pragmatic compassion aimed at restoring duty without violence.
