शरत्प्रवेशे रामविलापः तथा सुग्रीवप्रमादे लक्ष्मणप्रेषणम् (Autumn’s Onset: Rama’s Lament and Lakshmana Sent to Sugriva)
उच्यतां गच्छ सुग्रीवस्त्वया वत्स महाबल।मम रोषस्य यद्रूपं ब्रूयाश्चैवमिदं वचः।।
ucyatāṃ gaccha sugrīvas tvayā vatsa mahābala |
mama roṣasya yad rūpaṃ brūyāś caivam idaṃ vacaḥ ||
O mighty one, dear child—go to Sugrīva. Make him understand the true force of my anger, and convey to him these words in exactly this manner.
'O mighty warrior! O dear, go to Sugriva and make him aware of the virulence of my anger and tell him:
Dharma here is accountability in alliances: a promise-bound relationship requires truthful follow-through, and a leader may admonish a partner who neglects duty.
Sugrīva has delayed action after receiving help from Rāma; Rāma, angered, instructs Lakṣmaṇa to go and deliver a stern warning.
Rāma’s insistence on integrity and responsibility—expecting pledged duties to be honored without delay.
