शरत्प्रवेशे रामविलापः तथा सुग्रीवप्रमादे लक्ष्मणप्रेषणम् (Autumn’s Onset: Rama’s Lament and Lakshmana Sent to Sugriva)
असनास्सप्तपर्णाश्च कोविदाराश्च पुष्पिताः।दृश्यन्ते बन्धुजीवाश्च श्यामाश्च गिरिसानुषु।।
asanāḥ saptaparṇāś ca kovidārāś ca puṣpitāḥ | dṛśyante bandhujīvāś ca śyāmāś ca giri-sānuṣu ||
On the mountain slopes, āsana trees, saptaparṇas, and kovidāras are in bloom; bandhujīva plants and śyāmā creepers too are seen flowering.
'The asanas, saptaparna, kovida and bandhujeeva trees and shyama creepers are seen in full bloom on the mountain slopes.
Dharma is alignment with truth and time: recognizing seasonal change supports right planning and patient perseverance in one’s vowed responsibilities.
Rama lists flora visible in bloom on the hills as part of his wider description of autumn in Kishkindha.
